Life of a mother be it a stay at home mom or working mom can never be easy and distressful. There are so many things going around us, which make it really difficult for us as a mother to take out some time for ourselves.

Completing the responsibilities from morning to night, Taking care of the children and family, Preparing food, office work, cleaning, laundry and many other tasks which drains our energy and leave us feeling tired and stressed.

Do you know children can sense our stress and frustration? and  they do react according to it leading to a more stressful situation Thus it is important to distress ourselves else it can impact our productivity, work, health and most important our children.

To be honest, most of us already know the ways to deal with stress moreover we often read about it but we hardly adapt it. This time make sure you try out this methods, stick with it for sometime and see the difference by yourselves.

So without further ado, lets get started with the saying

WAKE UP BEFORE YOUR CHILDREN

As per your family routine, wake up at-least half an hour before your children and other family members to give yourself some “Me time ” which is not possible with the kids around. Grab a coffee or hot water or anything you like and have it alone without any distraction. It will give you a different peace of mind altogether and a great start of the day.

AVOID CELL PHONES

This one is the hardest one because I know most of us like to check their phones first thing in the morning and I was on the same boat. Stop checking your phone, email or any social media for the first 1 hr of morning. It will not only interrupts in your “Me Time” but also hinder your productivity.

When we are not in our virtual world, our mind thinks about the important tasks to perform, it plans out the day and we have productive thoughts in our mind which helps to have an organised day leads to less stressful day ahead.

If we keep checking our phone specially social media that 1 hr which we set aside for “Me Time” passes like a minute and you realised you did nothing in that hour except scrolling.

TAKE SOME BREAK FROM RESPONSIBILITIES

Having the same routine and monotonous life actually makes us sluggish, stressed and less enthusiastic. Thus it is advisable to take breaks from all the responsibilities. Leave your children with your family, go out with friends and if no body is there go alone.  Shop for yourself, go for a movie or anything which you like to do and find difficult to do with kids.

It will calm your mind, re-energise you and make you ready for your daily routine. Moreover this timeouts keeps you motivated and less stressed.

PAMPER YOURSELF 

Messy bun and comfortable t-shirt along with track pants becomes our go to everyday look after being mother. How can we feel good if we don`t look good?  Pampering ourselves enhance our confidence along with the feeling of happiness which can help in distress.

Most Important part is to love yourself. Be confident with your body and look. Make sure you get dressed and get ready everyday, even if it is for no reason. Start taking care of your skin, hair, body and health. If you wish, you can try some different look. Have a spa day at home, try DIY skincare or hair care, treat yourself. All these efforts will make you feel special and good about yourself.

FIND A HOBBY

Find something that interests you be it sketching, painting, dancing, art and craft, DIY`s anything which you would love to do in your free time. Whenever you feel stressed, try to do some activity which you like weather its for just 15 min, It will take you to an another zone and divert your mind. You will feel refreshed and much more calm after it.

Involve your kids if they are around, This will help them as well to learn something new. My current favourite activity is making DIY projects for my daughter :D.

ENJOY THIS TIME

Enjoy this time with your children and family. It should not be always about productivity, completing task and picture perfect home. It is okay to have messy home sometimes, we do not need to be a picture perfect. What more important is quality and enjoyable time with our family.

Dance with your children, laugh with them, play with them, make some mess while performing any activity. As long as you and your family is happy nothing matters more than that. Trust me spending quality time with your children is a stress buster in it self.

That cute little smile, Innocent laugh, funny talking and all those cuddles is the biggest price we get being a mom.
